Darling uke combines with retro vocal tones to give us a ‘60’s Hawaiian Flower Power’ vibe – meet The Evelyn's.
The two Evelyns were circling each other in the muso community for a decade before their dancing feet ever crossed paths. Finally, someone followed someone on insty, DMs were slid into, and they realised they’re basically the same person. Within months they were working on multiple projects together (including this one) and have been platonically married ever since. Darling uke combines with retro vocal tones to give us a ‘60’s Hawaiian Flower Power’ vibe – and we’re here for it. And if you thought they couldn’t get any sweeter, they took their duo name in honour of Rosie’s Grandma. Squee.
Rosie’s rich timbre and soft soul makes every song sound romantic. Singing since she was young, Rosie has dedicated her life to music. Her easy elegance and enchanting ways bring feeling to every performance… which might be why she was scouted for The Voice. Rosie has toured the country since 2012, playing on some big stages with some even bigger names (Iluka! Teenage Dads! Lime Cordial!).
Look, we’ll tell it to you straight. If you want Jo to serenade your guests with The Evelyns, now’s the time. The woman has landed a recording deal with Warner and she’s working on her album as we speak. It’s the same talent that’s seen her share the stage with the likes of Angus Stone, Meg Mac, and The Kooks. Jo’s personal style features “moody vocals and a galloping riff that just won’t quit”. And did someone say a million+ listens on Spotify?! Yeah, she does.
