From their first jam session, Kylie and Emmanuel found themselves hitting a sweet note that only continues to grow. There’s a soulful depth to their musical offering that perfectly complements the message of lasting love.
The pair have been gigging together for over two years, drawing inspiration from an array of musical idols including Norah Jones, John Butler, The Beatles, Alanis Morrissette, Ed Sheeran and Stevie Wonder. Kylie and Emmanuel describe their sound as an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, pop and alternative. Each one adds creative fills, including vocal percussion and stomp box beats, which deepen the complexity of their sound. This duo will pick you up and transport you to another time where soul and aching nostalgia reign
Kylie has been singing since she could talk, but this girl is more than just a pretty voice. A jack of all musical trades, she’s just as comfortable with a guitar or keyboard as she is behind a mic stand. And did we mention she’s studying biomedicine? #goals
Kylie has been gigging professionally since age 17 and has played iconic Melbourne venues including Corner Hotel and Bennetts Lane.
Born in Melbourne to a Chilean dad and Mauritian mum, Emmanuel started learning to sing and play guitar at the tender age of four. A multi-talented multi-instrumentalist, Emmanuel specialises in guitar and vocals but also hits the piano, bass and Latin percussion hard – plus he dabbles in filmmaking, photography, design and music producing and occasionally moonlights doing neo soul RnB cover gigs.
Emmanuel is a big believer that the right song can bring the party, and – in the spirit of Hendrix himself – plays guitar left handed.
